It's no secret to anybody I know that I love this house. Love it. It's the only thing keeping me sane in an almost unlivable city (sorry if this post comes across as harsh - I'm a little angry). Well, within the last week, we started noticing new power poles laying on their sides along the side of the busy street we live on. Then, we noticed that utility lines were being marked in our yards (there are 3 homes, including ours, on this side of the road). The neighbors and us have put two and two together and it seems as though a power pole and lines will go up in our side yard, across our neighbor's yard and another pole, right smack dab in the other neighbor's front yard, with the lines being only feet from our garage. The kicker here is that the city has yet to contact us...not even a note on the door. So, besides our property value going in the pooper, there is speculation that power lines so close to the home may cause health issues. I have a small child here! So, Rob's reading the city regs and we're gonna do our best to fight it.
